The Malaysian Institute of Interior Designers (MIID), also known as Pertubuhan Perekabentuk Dalaman Malaysia (PPDM), successfully hosted MIID REKA Session 53 on the 26th September 2024 at Gallotti&Radice Flagship Store Bangsar, Kuala Lumpur. As the national body representing interior design professionals, MIID continues to elevate the standards of interior design in Malaysia. This particular session was a significant evening of inspiration and networking, offering a platform for industry professionals to exchange ideas, showcase their creativity, and deepen their professional connections.
This session delved into two distinct perspectives on a beloved aspect of Malaysian culture: coffee. Café owner WM Putra shared his journey, highlighting how he envisioned the coffee experience through spaces that connected us with the three different sites he designed, each offering a unique atmosphere for coffee enthusiasts.
From a Facility Management standpoint, interior designer IDr Lee Kah Yoong (also known as IDr Jim Lee) shed light on his approach to transforming a client’s vision into reality. Both viewpoints emphasized that coffee was not merely a beverage but a multi-layered design experience that communicated on various levels.
MIID REKA Session 53 was a resounding success, bringing together interior designers, students, and industry professionals to share knowledge and celebrate their shared passion for design. The event underscored the importance of collaboration, continuous learning, and innovation in shaping the future of interior design in Malaysia.
